Itinerary for Amy!
Day 1
Arrive in Lisbon & taxi to Sintra, your home for the first 3 nights.
Days 2 & 3
Explore this fairytale-inspired city of castles, palaces, & gardens.
Day 4
On your way to the Algarve, you’ll stop in the beach town of Cascais.
Days 5 & 6
Relax! Go dolphin-spotting, take a hike, visit a museum & unwind at one of the many breath-taking beaches.
Day 7
Back on the road today and headed west. Enjoy lunch in the medieval city of Évora then visit the Temple of Diana
and the Agua de Prata Aqueduct. Now on to Óbidos where you’ll stay for 2 nights.
Day 8
Feeling naughty? Visit Caldas da Rainha to check out the *ahem* ceramics.
Day 9
Pack up! It’s time to head North. Stop in Aveiro for lunch and, perhaps, a gondola ride. Just don’t leave without
purchasing some local sea salt. After the stop in Aveiro, we journey on to Porto. For a quick and fun orientation to your new city, jump in the sidecar and enjoy an evening motorcycle tour.
Day 10
Discover downtown Porto by day. Admire the S. Bento Train Station’s tile work, take lunch at the Majestic Café, browse the shelves at Livero Lello, visit the Clerigos Church and climb the tower for an awe-insiring view of the city.
Day 11
Relax on a Douro River cruise where you sample the local wines as you glide past the vineyards. Follow that with a jaunt across the D. Luis Bridge to Gaia where you can visit any number of famous Port Houses to taste their offerings.
Day 12
All aboard! Jump on a train to Lisbon. It was so much fun the first time around, enjoy another motorcycle sidecar orientation this evening.
Day 13
Bom dia! Belém awaits! Admire the Monument to the Discoveries, wander the Coach Museum, grab a snack at Pasteis de Belém, admire the architecture of Jeronimo’s Monastery. Wind down the evening at LX Factory; a mix of artist workshops, boutiques, bars and restaurants.
Day 14
Climb to the top of the 25th of April Bridge, grab lunch to go at the Time Out Market, visit the Oceanário de Lisbon, admire the tiles at the Museu Nacional do Azulejo, sip champagne at Palácio Chiado, ascend the Santa Justa Lift, wander through the Castelo de São Jorge. find Pavilhão Chinês (Lisboa’s “secret” bar behind the red door) then finish with dinner at Tasca do Chino where the food and the fado music will make your heart soar.
Day 15
Obrigado e adeus. Thank you and goodbye.
